New Friday Night HEADS UP Racing Series!




Anyone who's been watching the weather forecast knew this post was coming. With rain in the forecast starting at Noon and 80% by 4 PM (about Round 1) and then 90% through the evening, we are going to cancel today's points races.

We will see everyone next weekend -- 09/19 is the cutoff for making the Bracket Finals team ($60 per racer is due to Kathy Kiekel by 09/19) and for declaring our Summit Super Series champions in Junior Dragster, Box & No Box.

Labor Day Weekend Brings 2 Full Days of Racing to Skyview Drags

The Labor Day holiday weekend brought two full days of racing to Skyview Drags with the Ironman Classic sponsored by Precision Crankworks held on Saturday September 5, 2015 and a Double Points show on Sunday September 6, 2015.  In Saturday’s competition, the Ironman’s went to Chandler McGarry (Junior Dragster), Don Kiekel (Super Pro), Dan Barron (Pro), Matt Luke (Bike/Sled), and Denny Achilles (Street Money).

Jr Dragster

In the Jr Dragster class, Chandler McGarry of Horseheads NY defeated Junior point’s leader Hannah Garinger of Exeter Pa in a double break out elimination.  Garinger, dialed 8.03, was .587 on the tree, running 8.0231 at 80.79 mph.  McGarry, with an identical .587 reaction time, ran a 7.906 at 81.98 mph on his 7.91 dial.  Garinger earned her way to the final for the Ironman with a bye run.  McGarry went on to the final after defeating Morgan Burgess of Canton Pa.  Burgess dialed 8.24, was .614 on the tree, running 8.280 at 77.98 mph.  McGarry dialed 7.90, was .628 on the tree, running 7.919 at 80.79 mph.

Slaven Peric Takes Home The Super Street Shootout Win!

Skyview Drags held the Super Street Shootout on Saturday August 29, 2015 with dozens of street legal cars and motorcycles lined up for their chance at the guaranteed $1500.00 payout to the winner.  The final round lined up bike versus street car, with the bike taking the win.  Slaven Peric took his Ninja motorcycle to Victory Lane over the Lincoln Town Car of Mike Dunkle out of Millerton Pa.  Peric dialed 5.97 was .654 on the tree, running 6.016 at 118.46 mph.  Dunkle, dialed 11.09, was .686 on the tree, running 11.117 at 64.258 mph.  Semi Finals lined Peric against Dave Thompson.  Thompson went .492 red, running 7.912 at 89.47 mph on his 7.92 dial.  Peric dialed 5.97, was .997 on the tree, running 12.294 at 46.88 mph.  Dunkle had the bye run in to the final round.  Special awards went to Bob O’Malley for Best Appearing, Jeff Strickland was #1 Qualifier earning him $100.00.  Round 1 Best Reaction Time went to Matt Forbes, Round 2 went to Dave Thompson, both good for an extra $50.00.
